5 Little Video Editing Tricks that make a BIG Difference! (Adobe Premiere Pro CC Tutorial / How to)
Get the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this Adobe Premiere Pro CC Tutorial I will be sharing 5 little video editing tips, tricks, and techniques that can make a big difference in your final project.
1. Pull Focus - Using dimming and blurring in the background you can pull focus to text, images, or pop ups in the foreground. You can even use keyframes to gently animate in and out of this. (0:20)
2. Gentle Motion - You can use scale and position keyframes to gently ease in and out of pictures in a slideshow fashion. This is great to keep the flow of the video going and keep still frames engaging for the viewer. (2:20)
3. Audio Ducking - There are many ways to duck audio, however this simple visual pull of the volume line allows you to visually dip in and out of important moments such as voice overs and transitions. (3:50)
4. Sound Design - This is a larger topic in general but it is good to remember that you can apply sounds the same way you apply video effects with a little creativity. (5:40)
5. Vignette - a subtle vignette can go a long way in bringing out the focus and color grading of certain scenes and pictures. This tool in the Lumetri color panel can come in handy for clips shot on clear blue skies or with soft edges. (7:40)
Keep these 5 subtle techniques and variety of knowledge in your arsenal for many different video editing situations.

5 Things Nobody Will Tell You About Video Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro CC Tutorial)
Get the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this video I will share 5 things that no one will tell about video editing that I had to learn in between the lines.
1. It's probably a preset: In 8 out of 10 cases when someone asks me how an effect is done and I look into it and come to an answer, it turns out it's just an app, or preset, or plugin etc. Almost everyone uses shortcuts and templates. Don't be too quick to think you can't do something, just find the right tools and resources. It's rare and I commend those few editors who are really artisanal with their craft nowadays. (0:20)
2. Editing is all the things you DON'T see: Things like cutting, trimming, arranging, selecting etc. are all elements of work involved in video editing that are unseen in the final project but are definitely felt. It's easy to think about results in terms of visual effects you can see but good editing can also be invisible. (2:45)
3. You can't always fix it in Post: Sometimes preproduction is just as important in creating an effect or result and it can't be recreated with a simple preset or button. Things like lighting, set design, materials etc. just cant be recreated so easily. (4:45)
4. Garbage In = Garbage Out: You can polish a turd but it's still a turd. Of course story and content can trump actual picture quality, but if you are working with poor source material, it will be harder to color grade, apply effects, cut etc in a visually pleasing way. Lighting is very important. (6:20)
5. Editing doesn't (always) matter: Not everything is meant to be a feature length film. What about livestreams, uncut one takes, videos for social media, memes etc. Editing is the creation and curation of content and so it doesn't always need to follow the same rules as long as you know when to break them. (9:00)

6 Video Editing Rules to Live by! (Adobe Premiere Pro CC How to / Tutorial)
Get the latest version of Adobe Premiere: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this video I will go over 6 video editing rules to live by and how they can help you as an editor no matter what project you are working on.
6 RULES OF THUMB:
1. Master the Cut & Fade, they are the simple 2 transitions that will serve you best in 80% of cases. (0:20)
2. When it comes to text, simple clean and solid is hard to mess up. Titles can be a sticking point for a lot of people who don't come from a design or typography background so as a rule of thumb keeping it simple and minimal will ensure things go smoothly. (1:46)
3. Less is more (what can you cut away?). Trendy effects can date your video, simplicity is timeless & lets the content shine through and not distract the viewer. This doesn't always mean effects are bad, but making sure everything serves a cohesive purpose helps. (2:50)
4. Take a break and come back to your project with fresh eyes. Let it sit, and see if it ages like wine or milk. Play it through from the start and maybe get a second opinion. This will allow you to figure out those creative puzzles that get you stuck when it comes to editing and make a better overall project. (4:45)
5. Editing depends greatly on source material. It's a relationship that goes hand in hand. Things like lighting are very important. Lighting is hard to fix in post production, etc. The better quality source material you have to start with, the better final edit you can put together in most cases. (6:55)
6. Once you know the rules, you can break them. Creativity is subjective, and perhaps you are working on a project that these rules don't apply to. As long as you know WHY you are doing something, you can be more capable to flex and bend things around, however remember the foundational principles are the principles for a reason.

My Top 10 Favorite Video Effects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC! (Editing Tutorial – How To)
Get my new Premiere Pro Effects Preset Pack!: http://bit.ly/PresetPack
Get the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this video I will be listing and demonstrating my top 10 favorite video effects available in Adobe Premiere Pro. These aren't in a super strict order, however I've tried to rank them from functional to most fun. These are the ones I'm always reaching for
10. Warp Stabilizer (1:28) - Great for stabilizing slightly shaky footage in post for a smooth result. Doesn't work miracles on every clip, but smoothes out clips that are suitable. Be careful to avoid turning your clips to jelly by forcing too much stabilization on a clip that isn't suitable. (https://youtu.be/_ta3-imPXTc)
9. Gaussian Blur (2:18) - Staple effect, you can pull focus, blend and blur things together, animate, fade and transition etc... (https://youtu.be/AaO0D66xeYY)
8. Crop (3:12) - Crop things out of the picture, or crop into certain things. Must have effect for creating many different types of compositions. (https://youtu.be/h553RFrWL2w)
7. Invert (4:20) - Not only can you get creative with color and channel inverstions, you can get functional with finding opposites and fixing certain color and blending issues. It's all math and color theory. (https://youtu.be/UisUjXvDPeY)
6. Tint (5:35) - It's like the gradient map tool found in Photoshop, great for adding color, or mapping shadows and highlights. (https://youtu.be/hvVcOgGe9Js)
5. Ultra Key (6:38) - Green screen, selective color adjustments, etc. Keying is crucial to have in the toolbox. (https://youtu.be/jFttk8kIAbs)
4. Luma Key (see Gradient Wipe as well) (7:35) - Similar to color keying, however it goes off brightness and darkness instead. Useful in many cases. (https://youtu.be/MrXu_Plq0Sc)
3. Echo (8:45) - What a fun effect that blends clips together at different time delays. Can look very cool on moving people and especially on tripod shots with moving subjects for some very trippy movements. (https://youtu.be/Z4EYuUDIgj0)
2. Strobe Light (10:40) - The creative possibilities are plenty with this effect. It's like having your very own customizable strobe machine inside your video project. You can stack this on top of itself and other effects as well. (https://youtu.be/uhl8KDjDLl4)

5 Essential Cuts Every Video Editor Should Know! (Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 How to)
Get the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this video, I will demonstrate 5 different cuts that every editor should know. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 to show these techniques, tips, and examples.
1. The Standard Cut
- the foundation, the natural thing that happens when you place one clip next to the other. You can build entire video projects with just this.
2. Cut to B-Roll
This is a great way to show different things while the same narration and dialogue is still happening or call back to other clips to demonstrate what someone is taking about.
3. Jump Cut
This can be used to create stop motion like montages, show passages of time and even do magic illusions with the proper planning.
4. Cut to the beat.
Editing the beat and flow of the music is important and cutting to the beat is a big part of that. This doesn’t always mean cutting on the drum hits, it could just mean making sure the sequencing matches the pace of the song and vice versa.
5. Cut Perspectives
Cutting in our out of different angles or locations in the same scene can be used to enter establishing shots, offer different perspective both in story and in shot, and show action.
One cut may demonstrate many of these use cases at once and it is the essential building block of video editing.

5 Fast Fixes to Common Frustrating Problems in Adobe Premiere Pro! (Video Editing How to) (CC 2018)
Get the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro: http://bit.ly/2ekhRiF
In this tutorial, I will show you 5 common frustrating video editing issues in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and how to fix them!
1. Mismatched Sizes - Often times a project may involve many different sized clips which can cause issues if you aren't aware of your sequence size and desired project size beforehand. This can be fixed by scaling or planning specifications beforehand.
2. Audio or Video Footage Not Dragging - Make sure you have the tracks highlighted so source patching allows you to drag the proper footage back on the sequence timeline.
3. Media Offline - You can relink offline media by locating it on your hard drive if you've moved it mid edit or unplugged a drive. You can also use offline media as a way to edit drafts and turn it back on in the future.
4. Warp Stabilizer - and speed can't be used on the same clip or requires clip dimensions to match sequence. You can fix this by nesting the clip which acts as a new clip.
5. Un-Nest Clips - You can bring the original clips back after nesting by either going into the sequence and copy pasting or dragging sequences from the project media bin.
Hopefully these fixes will save you many hours of frustration in future video editing projects!
